Who's in for another exercise, like the 'in a room' one?

How are we going to do the next one? More or less freedom?

I say we go for the old 60 second screenplay idea.

I have personaly never done anything like that before.

yes, a 60s screenplay would be interesting.

what if you included the following constraints:

1. everything written must be achievable with a single camera and minimal cast, crew and locations (like, perhaps your friends out in a big field somewhere)

2. all editing should be done in-camera, or it should be done in a single shot.

3. the finished article should be targetted toward being submitted to the 60secondmoviehour website ;-)

what say?

Sounds good to me. Well all except that in-camera
one long shot buisness. I dont fancy that. I mean Im all for other people doing it that way, if thats what they want. Just not me.

Is this like a..?

The audience is in a foul mood because it 15 minuits past the scheduled start time for this fiasco.
Oddly enough the temprature has been getting lower in precise increments to the point where they are uncomfortably cold but most do not realise it yet.
A muted yet obnoxious static begins to drone at varying levels.
Calculated to the precise moment when a majority of the audience is seconds away from walking out and demanding their ticket price back if this hadn't been a well advertised free grand opening.
The static coalesses into the familliar scratch of an old album.
The screens turn grey as...........
The Narr soothing voice begins to convince the audience that they are in a sweltering desert.
The images of heat conflict in the minds of the audience with the fact that they can now see their own breath.

Thanks for the link Eddie.

I just checked out some of the shorts. Some were **** . Some were great.

Go check out The End and Together. Both were greatr little short.

But still, there is nothing there done in 90 seconds that couldnt be done in 60. I say we stick with 60 seconds. That way if anyone does make it, they can go up on that site strait away.

here's my idea the 60s short I will make:

a guy is looking for something in a graveyard.
a mysterious woman spots him and follows him.
the guy comes across what he is looking for, and crouches down for it.
the woman jumps out and threatens him with a knife! she wants whatever the guy has been looking for too!
the guy was looking for a gun. bang she's dead.

actually, i already shot this as part of a filmmaking exercise at the panico film workshop, and, as always, the end result is somewhat different to my orignal vision ...

i've taken the 3 minute super8 shakycam single shot and edited down to 60s (i really must get out there and shoot some fresh material! this is eight years old!!)

i just need to stick a soundtrack on it and i'll be done.

BTW, does anyone ever understand what ralph smart is saying?

I'm going for the 60 second idea too then, already have an idea, just need to think of whats going to happen in them 60 secs.
